Fans of music, food, and fun turned out in droves for the inaugural event. The festival was then moved to Druid Hill Park to accommodate the large crowd, and the park has hosted the event ever since. For years, the festival—now known simply as The Charm City Bluegrass Festival — has picked up a share of local and international acclaim, winning such awards as the Best Festival as voted by Baltimore Magazine and the Momentum Award for Event of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association. The Charm City Bluegrass Festival has become a Baltimore tradition that residents and visitors look forward to year after year.
