"How does he do it?" You'll be asking yourself that question more than once during a visit to Illusions Bar & Theater. Now everyone around Baltimore homes for sale can experience Spencer's unique blend of comedy and magic in a beautiful Art Deco-styled venue. Illusions offers a full-service bar, and guests are welcome to bring food to enjoy before the show. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Friday, and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday. - The Horse You Came In On Saloon - 1626 Thames St., Baltimore, MD 21231
The Horse You Came In On Saloon may sound like a Western-themed bar, and you wouldn't be wrong. But this lively establishment also stands as a tribute to the last place iconic writer Edgar Allan Poe was seen before his sudden and untimely death. Originally known as Al & Ann's, the bar owns the title of America's oldest continually-operated saloon. Appropriately, owner Howard Gerber bought the business in 1972 after hitting it big at Pimlico Race Course. The Horse features live music every day but Monday. Hours are 6 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Friday, noon - 1:30 a.m. Friday, and noon - 10 p.m. Sunday.
- The Back Yard - 131 S. Schroeder St., Baltimore, MD 21223
A single theme just isn't enough for the Back Yard. Any given day is a celebration of one of several themes like sports watch parties, Wine'd Down Wednesdays, and game nights. Try one of their whimsical cocktails, such as the signature Bag of Barbies, a mix of gin, Framboise, lime, cranberry bitters, and egg white. Beer lovers will find an embarrassment of riches to choose from, including a curated selection of local and regional craft brews. Snack on a plate of your own individually styled tots created from a range of seasonings, sauces, and toppings. The Back Yard is open 4 p.m. - midnight Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. - midnight Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Sunday.
- James Joyce Irish Pub - 616 President St., Baltimore, MD 21202
Named for one of the Emerald Isle's favorite sons, James Joyce Irish Pub is the real deal. The authentic feel starts with decor and furnishings imported directly from Ireland. Add a menu of bangers & mash, shepherd's pie, Scotch eggs, and other traditional dishes. Finish with an extensive beer list, including Guinness, Harp, Smithwick, and Kilkenny. Daily live music includes open sessions each Tuesday evening. Hours are noon - 2 a.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. - 2 a.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 1 a.m. Sunday.
- BLK Swan - 1302 Fleet St., Baltimore, MD 21202
When you walk in the front door, the Instagram-ready, "urban-elevated" decor of BLK Swan takes your breath away. Described as an "oasis for trendsetters, urbanites, and influencers," BLK Swan is top-of-the-line from food and beverages to customer service and DJ-spun tunes. Customers love the complimentary white truffle caramel marshmallow popcorn that comes to every table. BLK Swan is open daily from 5 p.m.- midnight, with extended hours until 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
