Attention, music lovers! Record Store Day is on April 22 this year, and the city of Baltimore is an absolutely wonderful place to celebrate. In fact, there are so many record stores near Baltimore homes for sale it'll take you quite a while to visit all of them.
To help you celebrate Record Store Day, our real estate agents have chosen their favorite record stores in Baltimore and the surrounding communities. It was a difficult decision, but you can start with these:
- Celebrated Summer Records — 3616 Falls Rd., Baltimore, MD 21211
This quaint little record store is filled to the brim with everything a vinyl lover could want. Celebrated Summer Records has a wide variety of punk, hardcore, jazz, soul, metal, rock, reggae, and alternative. They get a huge number of albums in on a regular basis, so don't be surprised to find rare gems and plenty of new albums with every visit. As a bonus, book lovers can pick up a novel or two at the accompanying Atomic Books.
- Trax on Wax — 709 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228
Whether you're searching for used LPs, reissued vinyl records, or new-release music albums, you'll find all that and more here. With an ever-changing stock of tens of thousands of pre-owned vinyl records and LPs, Trax on Wax is one of Music City's best record stores. This incredible store is also filled with record players, turntables, posters, t-shirts, mugs, and other music-related items. Situated near many Catonsville homes for sale, the shop is a real treat.
- KA-CHUNK!! Records — 78 Maryland Ave., Annapolis, MD 21401|
Having the best name on this list is only one reason why you need to check out KA-CHUNK!! Records on Record Store Day this year. Located just down the street from quite a few Annapolis homes for sale, you never know what you'll find at this wonderful shop. In addition to a large variety of music selections, they also have a bunch of popular (and not so popular, but still adored by someone) movies on VHS and other formats.
- The Sound Garden — 1616 Thames St., Baltimore, MD 21231
This year, The Sound Garden celebrates its 30th year in business. During that time, it has amassed over 50 awards, including Best Record Store in Maryland by Vinyl Me Please. However, their biggest claim to fame was when Rolling Stone magazine once ranked them as the second-best record store in the United States. You'll find over 100,000 new and used CDs and DVDs in this amazing shop. But it's their new and used vinyl that brings music aficionados back time and time again. It's also a great place to pick up posters, t-shirts, books, and other items.
- Baby's on Fire — 1010 Morton St., Baltimore, MD 21201
Baby's on Fire is one of the most unique record stores on our list because it's also a coffee shop. Located in the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, this "cool and comfortable space," according to owners David and Shirlé Kozlowski, is a dream come true for the couple and pretty much anyone who visits. In addition to a great selection of vinyl and other formats, along with tasty food and drinks, their shop is host to record release parties, DJ turntable nights, musician talks, and more.
