- Baltimore's St. Patrick's Day Parade - Sunday, March 13, 2 pm
Like most major cities, Baltimore has its own St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade celebrates Irish culture in all its forms and includes bands, dancers, foot marchers, and plenty of bright shamrock green costumes and floats. With over 60 years of history behind it, this event has become a beloved part of celebrating St. Paddy's in the city.
This year's version begins at the intersection of Charles and Mulberry at 2 pm and is preceded by the Parade Day Mass at the Basilica of the Assumption earlier that same morning. Get to the parade site early to make sure you get a spot on the sidelines!
- Under Armour Kelly Benefits St. Patrick's Day Shamrock 5K - Sunday, March 13, 1 pm
Active Baltimore residents might be interested in participating in the annual Under Armour St. Patrick's Day 5K, a fun one-hour race for a worthy cause. The event starts at the intersection of Charles and Mulberry, travels along the edge of the Inner Harbour, then reaches a turnaround point at Jackson Street before finally ending at Power Plant Live, a favorite local hangout.
The race's entry fee ranges from $45 to $50 depending on when you register, and prizes of up to $150 are available for top participants. Every participant will also receive a T-shirt, a finisher medal, and access to the post-race after-party at the Power Plant Live (including two complimentary beers for runners over age 21). All proceeds go to St. Vincent de Paul Baltimore, a local anti-poverty non-profit organization.
- Baltimore Official St Patrick's Day Bar Crawl – Thursday, March 17, 1-9 pm
Drinks and merriment are a big part of St. Patrick's Day. Bar crawls offer a chance to keep the party going all day in a group that is just as happy to let loose as you are.
Baltimore's Official St. Patrick's Day Bar Crawl begins at Luckie's Tavern in Power Plant Live and progresses through many of the city's best-known bars and pubs. Each establishment will feature specials on food and drink to encourage you to indulge as you pass through each space on your way to the next. The event officially ends at 9 pm, but participants are welcome to continue the fun on their own if they choose.
- The Cuisine of Ireland for St. Paddy's Day - Thursday, March 17 from 6-9 pm
Want to experience a St. Patrick's Day dinner you'll never forget? Baltimore's Schola cooking school's St. Paddy's Day class is a great opportunity to make dinner into an interactive experience.
During the three-hour course, you'll learn to cook a three-course Irish meal: an appetizer course of Potato Boxtys, Guinness Braised Beef with Shortribs with a side of Carrot and Parsnip Puree with Crispy Cabbage for the main entree, followed by Irish Pancakes with Apples and Nutella topped with Brown Bread Ice Cream for dessert. The course costs $79.99 per person and includes all ingredients needed to make all three courses. You can enjoy the course alone or bring your partner along to share in the fun.
