- Conewago Recreation Trail - 2385 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022
Utilizing the former Cornwall-Lebanon rail line's path, the Conewago Recreation Trail is a beautiful 5-mile trek near the border of Lancaster and Lebanon counties. It's a level, well-graded and easy-to-follow path through shady woods and expansive meadowlands, with frequent views of Conewago Creek. The trail is open to hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing, and it's located a stone's throw from many Elizabethtown homes for sale. Keep your eyes open for blooming wildflowers if you hike it in spring.
- Pinnacle Scenic Overlook Nature Preserve - Holtwood, PA 17532
Many would call Pinnacle Scenic Overlook the best view in Lancaster County, and it's hard to argue with them. This rocky outcropping provides an expansive view of the lower Susquehanna River Valley and is just one of many striking features in Pinnacle Scenic Overlook Nature Preserve. It's accessible via a 2.76-mile loop of moderate-to-difficult hiking trails that meander through the preserve's wild, wooded landscape.

Following the Conestoga River banks in Lancaster County, the Conestoga Greenway Trail is a beautiful trail that offers hikers some great views across the picturesque river valley. The Greenway is a work in progress, with many more miles planned for future construction, but the first 2.6-mile section is easily accessible through the trailhead and parking area on Conestoga Drive, just a few minutes from these Lancaster Homes for Sale.

With an interconnected network of hiking trains totaling 13 miles, Lancaster County Central Park is a great resource for hikers in Lancaster. The trails traverse a vast and varied landscape of meadowlands, forests, and creek valleys, ranging in difficulty from easy to strenuous. This park is the largest public green space in Lancaster County at 544 acres, and many of its trails are open to mountain biking and horseback riding, as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in season.
- The Appalachian Trail - Pennsylvania
Often referred to simply as the AT, the Appalachian Trail spans 2,190 miles from Georgia to Maine. About 230 of those miles are right here in Pennsylvania. The trail runs straight through the communities of Boiling Springs and Duncannon, and within a few short miles of many Harrisburg homes for sale. Following the Ridges and valleys of the Appalachian Mountains, the AT offers a challenging hike that rewards intrepid travelers with spectacular views and an unforgettable experience. Dozens of trailheads in Pennsylvania make it easy to choose a long or short hike as you see fit.
