The official start of summer is almost here, and our real estate agents always look forward to the warmer months for one very special reason—fresh, local produce. The Baltimore area offers some of the best farmers markets on the East Coast, and as the weather warms up, these local hot spots are the best places to find the season's bounty.
- BMI Farmers Market - 1415 Key Hwy
Held on the grounds of the Baltimore Museum of Industry, the BMI Farmers Market is a great place to find local produce and goods, along with family-friendly games and activities. The market takes place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday now through November 30 and is just minutes from many Baltimore homes for sale.
- The Market at Belvedere Square – 529 E Belvedere Ave.
A true foodie paradise, Market at Belvedere Square is Baltimore's go-to destination for gourmet food and ingredients. It's a little different from a traditional farmers market in that its goods are sourced from far and wide—all over the world in fact—but there's no better place to find exotic nuts and cheeses, organic meat and seafood, and a myriad of other unique foods.
- Pratt Street Market – 100 Light St.
Every Thursday now through October, the Pratt Street Market offers a chance to find fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, and other surprises right in the heart of Downtown Baltimore. You'll see the tents in Pratt & Light Plaza, right in front of the Transamerica Tower—the tallest building in the city.
- Druid Hill Farmers Market – 3100 Swann Drive
The Druid Hill Farmers Market is a fun, family-friendly event that takes place in Druid Hill Park every Wednesday afternoon now through October. Not only does the park host vendors offering everything from eggs and honey to vegetables and fresh-baked bread, but the farmers market also includes live music, yoga classes, and outdoor movie showings.
- Govanstowne Farmers Market – 5104 York Road
This North Baltimore market was founded in 2011 and sponsored by Loyola University to provide a much-needed source of local produce for residents in the community. The Govanstowne Farmers Market has grown to become a destination for fresh produce throughout the Baltimore area, taking place from 3–7 p.m. on Wednesdays now through September.
- Baltimore Farmers Market & Bazaar – East Saratoga Street & Holliday Street
In many ways, the Baltimore Farmers Market & Bazaar is the city's flagship farmers market. It's one of the largest producers-only markets in Maryland, offering a stunning variety of local goods, from fruits and vegetables to meat and seafood, handmade clothing and crafts to bath and body products, and anything else that happens to be in season. Explore the market on any Sunday now through December, 7 a.m. to noon.
- 32nd Street Farmers Market – 400 E. 32nd St.
This cozy community farmers market in Baltimore's Abell neighborhood has been one of the city's best sources for local goods since 1980. The 32nd Street Farmers Market runs all year long, every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon, and offers everything you'd expect from a much larger market, including an ever-changing selection of products from local farms, orchards, bakers, crafters, and artists.
