The Fells Point Privateer Festival – always one of Baltimore's most popular springtime events – is returning with a new name and even more fun for every member of the family. Starting this year, the event is called the Fells Point Maritime Heritage Festival, and will build on the original privateer theme with a broader focus on local maritime history.
The new-look festival is a chance to explore Baltimore's history of seafaring, maritime commerce, and shipbuilding, with historic demonstrations that take you back to another era. Of course, there will also be great food, drinks, shopping, and plenty of kid-friendly activities. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the original Baltimore Privateer Festival, and organizers have decided to take the event to another level by including more of the city's maritime history. You'll still see plenty of privateer-themed fun, along with a deeper look at how the maritime industry has shaped the city of Baltimore. If you've been shopping for Fells Point homes for sale, this is a great chance to see why this popular, historic neighborhood is one of the city's best places to call home.
For those of you looking forward to the privateer aspect of the festival, don't worry, there will still be plenty of pirate-themed fun to enjoy this year. On top of that, you'll have the opportunity to explore local history, sample delicious food and drink, shop for unique items, and enjoy a variety of activities geared toward younger members of the audience.

Rum Punch Stroll – For the adults in the crowd, the Rum Punch Stroll provides a chance to sample the delicious rum punch recipes of local businesses, and vote on the best of the bunch. Tickets for the stroll are just $8 in advance, or $10 on event day.
Visit the Ships – All weekend long, you'll have the opportunity to tour a number of historic local ships, including the Panther and the S.S. John W. Brown.
Activities for Kids – The festival features a variety of fun activities for kids, including scavenger hunts, historic/educational demonstrations, a chance to explore ships, and so much more.
