Since the late 1990s, The Book Thing has had a singular mission: "To put unwanted books into the hands of those who want them." There's nothing for sale in this nonprofit Baltimore institution—whether you want a children's picture book or Oxford Dictionary, if you want it, you may take it without giving anything in return. They take donations of books and magazines, regardless of age or subject matter. You can also donate CDs, DVDs, phones, photographs, and tablets for others to enjoy.
