Just as the year-end holiday season kicks into high gear, Christmas Village transforms Baltimore's West Shore Park (501 Light Street) into a mesmerizing holiday world. It's the perfect holiday shopping destination for families who need to shop but want to enjoy the experience.
The opening ceremony begins at 11 AM Thanksgiving morning. The celebration continues throughout the holiday season. To accommodate last-minute shoppers, the market will be open until 5 PM on Christmas Eve. The Village is closed on November 28, and December 5 and 12.

Baltimore's Christmas Market is the modern version of a tradition that began in the 16th century. German farmers first gathered at a farmers market to sell their crops during Advent. The generations which followed continued the tradition, inspiring Nuremberg's Christkindlesmarkt and similar holiday markets around the world.

The Christmas Village presents events and activities for every member of your family. You'll enjoy live performances, photos with Santa, and more. Check the Event Calendar for schedules and links to ticketing information.
The Holiday Market makes it easy to finish all of your Christmas and holiday shopping in one place. 50 local, regional, and international vendors will sell jewelry, original sewn and woven designs, and many other artisan-created items.

Be sure to bring your appetite to the vendor area. You can appease your inner-German with bratwurst, knackwurst, schnitzel, leberkäse, and other authentic German foods. You can nibble German gingerbread or sip a German beer. Pizza lovers can fill up on their favorite pies at Brick N Fire Pizza.
If it's lunchtime and you're craving a German meal, the Market is open for Business Lunch. You can buy an inexpensive meal Monday through Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
The Christmas Village offers a schedule of fun adventures for children of all ages. When local schools arrange a School Tour, children learn facts about European market history, merchants, craftsmen, and traders. They'll also eat lunch and enjoy a treat. Younger children will enjoy these annual favorites.
If you're a wine lover, you'll enjoy Christmas Village Wine Tastings with Boordy Vineyards. Participants receive 4 wine samples, a cheese plate, a Boordy Vineyard wine glass, and other benefits. Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 pm to 7 pm.
