Baltimore takes St. Patrick's Day very seriously. From its iconic St. Patrick's Day Parade drawing record-setting crowds to the many Irish pubs offering discounted drinks during strolls and bar crawls, you will find plenty to do in and around Baltimore. Here are some of the most popular things to do in Baltimore for St. Patrick's Day, and that's no Blarney.

The city's St. Patrick's Day Parade is considered the "jewel in Maryland's emerald crown." This 50-year-long tradition draws thousands of people to the city to watch as Irish dancers, musicians, and entertainers march through the streets of downtown Baltimore.

The Baltimore St. Patrick's Day Parade is a volunteer effort put on by the community and offered at no charge to the community. It is held the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day beginning at 2:00 p.m. from the Washington Monument. Parking can be hard to come by, so plan to arrive early.
Right before the St. Patrick's Day Parade, runners can participate in The Shamrock 5K, which begins at 1:15 p.m. the race takes place along Charles and Mulberry Streets with cash awards to the top three men and women as well as age group awards. The entire family can participate with categories for kids through adults. Race proceeds benefit the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and the awards ceremony is held immediately following the race.
The Carroll County Farm Museum in nearby Westminster is open March 14 through 17 for a special family-friendly Irish tea party. Tickets to the tea, which is held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day, cost $20 and include museum admission and a tour of the farmhouse.
On St. Patrick's Day, Baltimore welcomes little leprechauns (ages two to four) to the Everyman Theatre for an Irish-inspired celebration featuring drama, music and movement workshops. All participants will be able to enjoy a craft time as well. Cost for this event is $15 per child, and it runs from 10:30 to 11:30.

Federal Hill is filled with some of the favorite bars of Baltimore, and on March 14 from 12 to 9 p.m., you can enjoy the Federal Hill Irish Stroll. Seventeen bars on Federal Hill will offer discounted drinks, and the first 3,000 guests will receive a free St. Paddy's Stroll Koozie. Along the way you will see strolling bagpipers and the occasional leprechaun, and be prepared to enjoy prizes and giveaways long the way. You do have to have an event ticket to enter participating bars during this event.
