Elizabethtown, PA is known for its quaint Main Street that is home to a variety of shops, museums, art galleries, and restaurants. Many of the downtown buildings that give the city its charm and defines its history are original 19th and 20th century historic architectural structures.
Elizabethtown is also a city where local business organizations and residents work to keep their community alive and beautiful. One such organization is the Market Street Improving Business (MSIB) group.
Market Street Improving Business (MSIB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the sustainability of the Elizabethtown, PA downtown area and its surrounding community. The group was formed by five local business owners who came together to keep the business district, center square, and main street thriving and self-sustaining.
The orgnaization's main objectives are to revitalize and stabilize local businesses, educate local residents about the value of shopping locally, beautification projects around town, and opening channels of communication between the many groups, organizations, and businesses of Elizabethtown.
MSIB hosts several Elizabethtown events to bring the community to its downtown including E-Town 2nd Fridays, Elizabethtown's Arti Walk, 1st Annual Beans and Brew, Wine Walk, and the 1st Annual Ribs and Riffs Music Festival. All funds raised or donated to MSIB are put directly into activities and improvements in the area.
In what is certainly going to be one of the highlights of the summer, the first annual Ribs & Riffs Music Festival will be held Sunday, July 13th from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Ribs will be provided by Lucky Ducks Bar and Grille and the riffs will be provided by:
The festival will be held behind E-Town Rita's, located at 30 N. Market Street. Tents will be provided for shade and everyone is encouraged to bring their own chair to relax. Additional food vendors are expected to participate and will be announced as the event gets closer.
