Pickleball is gaining popularity all over the country, and our real estate agents have been receiving a lot of questions about where to play this fun sport in Baltimore County. As it turns out, there are a lot of great pickleball courts in the Baltimore area, many of them a mere stone's throw from beautiful Baltimore homes for sale.
Chances are you've heard of pickleball before. You may even remember playing it back in gym class. But the sport has been blowing up in popularity during the last few years, and this fun mashup of ping pong and tennis is quickly becoming a new craze. Pickleball leagues are springing up all over the country, and Baltimore is no exception.
If you happen to be new to the sport, it's easy to play, with simple rules and a lot of familiar elements. You can think of it as over-sized ping pong, with a tennis-sized net, played on a badminton-sized court. The racquets are similar to oversized ping pong paddles, and the ball is like a giant ping pong ball (or maybe more like a Wiffle ball).

Baltimore's culinary scene is predominately known for blue crab (also designated as the Maryland state crustacean), and it turns up in everything from crab cakes and pretzels, to dips and soups. But Baltimore restaurants have an eclectic assortment of delicious offerings, as you'll find in this list of great local eateries recommended by our real estate agents.
