Palmyra PA, located near Harrisburg, Hershey, and Lebanon, is often referred to as a bedroom community. While it's true that many of its residents commute to these larger, convenient cities, there are plenty of employment opportunities in Palmyra PA. One of the city's largest employers, ASK Foods, has been a provider in the community for more than 65 years.
Providing high quality soups, salads, entrees, and more, ASK Foods is dedicated to preparing fresh products with no additives and no preservatives. The entire ASK Foods group is broken up into three main teams to provide the best products for their customers.
Family owned and operated for more than 65 years, ASK Foods has been a part of the Palmyra PA community from the start. Originally called the A.S. Kettering Company, the partnership that is now ASK Foods was founded in 1947 when Abraham Shelley Kettering wanted his daughter's husband to bring her home from Boston. In exchange, he offered Robert DiMatteo half of his business. The two artisans worked together to form the company that stands today, and passed along their knowledge of the ups and downs of the marketplace and their love of naturally creative foods to their children.
The current CEO, Wendie DiMatteo, is the third generation to take the reigns and is always focused on long-range strategic planning to keep ASK Foods moving forward. She is also constantly giving back to the Palmyra PA community as well as the surrounding areas. She serves on the Board of Directors of "Team Pennsylvania", a partnership formed to develop economic strategies for the state. She is a member of the Mt. Gretna Theatre Board and serves on the Board at Lebanon Valley College.
The name of the game at ASK Foods is passion. From marketing to packaging, the ASK Foods team has a contagious love for their trades. Every aspect of their strategies are designed with communication in mind and all of the teams work closely with the chefs and clients to ensure perfect products every time. Employees at ASK Foods will learn about store-level marketing, packing, cooking, and proprietary operations in an environment that is supportive and enthusiastic.
