 The Perry Hall Improvement Association is the oldest and largest civic organization in northeastern Baltimore County. The organization is a citizens group dedicated to representing the unincorporated community and keeping it a desirable place to live and raise a family.

The nearest city is Towson, approximately 7 miles away from Perry Hall. Baltimore is 9 miles from Perry Hall. Other neighboring communities include Carney, Rossville, Overlea, Parkville, Kingsville, Middle River and Rosedale, all less than 3 miles from Perry Hall.

Recreation and Events

Nearby Perry Hall is Honeygo Regional Park, the site of two lighted ball fields, three athletic fields, an indoor recreation center, a roller hockey court, trails, two picnic pavilions, and a handicapped accessible playground. This park is a part of the Baltimore County parks system.

Schools and Education

The majority of Perry Hall students attend the Baltimore County Public Schools. Local schools include Perry Hall Elementary, Gunpowder Elementary, Seven Oaks Elementary, Joppa View Elementary, Perry Hall Middle School and Pine Grove Middle School. The two middle schools feed into Perry Hall High School, a high school with an enrollment of approximately 2,300 students.

Perry Hall High School is the largest public high school in Baltimore County. In addition to serving the community of Perry Hall, the high school also serves the communities of Kingsville and Glen Arm.

Perry Hall High School may look familiar to movie-goers. John Waters filmed high school scenes for his movie hit Hairspray at Perry Hall High in 1987.

Baltimore County Public Schools serves more than 107,033 students in 174 schools, programs and centers. It is the 26th largest school district in the nation and the third largest in Maryland.

According to Baltimore County Public Schools district officials, the students earned $103.7 million in scholarships in 2012. More than 7,300 students graduate from the Baltimore County Public Schools annually. More than 87.5 percent of all graduates seek higher education. The district’s high standards of education include an International Baccalaureate program at two high schools, and an average of 17 advanced placement courses at each high school.

More than half of all Baltimore County Public Schools’ traditional and magnet high schools are listed among the nation’s top schools. The Washington Post named 13 of the district’s high schools in the top 9 percent in the nation. Eleven schools were among Newsweek/The Daily Beast’s list of America’s Best High Schools.

Perry Hall has several major universities and colleges in close proximity. The Community College of Baltimore County, Morgan State University, Towson University, Loyola University Maryland, John Hopkins University, University of Baltimore and the University of Maryland-Baltimore are less than 12 miles from Perry Hall.

Business and Economy

Baltimore County is home the world headquarters of McCormick & Company, the makers of spices, herbs and flavorings for retail, commercial and industrial customers. FILA USA, the sportswear manufacturer, is headquartered in Sparks, Maryland. 

Baltimore County is also home to major employers, including MedStar, Franklin Square Medical Center, the Social Security Administration, Firaxis Games, and Black and Decker.
